Competition Information

Thanks for a successful Booster Club meeting last night. It was great to see you all there and it was great to get to watch the seniors for a bit. They are looking awesome! All their practice last week sure did pay off. I am so excited to hear how they do at competition this weekend!

For those of you who weren’t at the meeting, I announced that I will not be attending the competition this weekend. I have been very torn and really wanted to go, but with Cori only being a little over 2 weeks old, I don’t think it’s in my best interest to go so soon. I hope everyone understands. Coach Erinn will be going in my place. I have tried to make the weekend very organized and trust that Erinn, Heather, and Nikki will make everything run very smoothly.

Attached you will find the competition information I handed out at the Booster Club meeting last night. I also handed one out to every Senior girl whose parent did not attend the meeting. Youth parents that did not attend the meeting will receive their information packets tonight at practice. The attached document is just a newsletter of information. There is more information included in the packet that your child will bring home. Please review all information and let me know if you have any questions. Thanks!

Also, we will be doing Big sis/Little sis notes of encouragement for this competition. I also attached a document to remind you who has who for big sis/little sis. Please bring your big sis/little sis note of encouragement to practice on Thursday. They can hand them out to one another sometime in the 30 minute overlap of practice. Remember, these notes are only for seniors and youth. No one will need to make something for their Tiny sister. Thanks!

Best of luck this weekend! I will be thinking of you guys!

Cheer News 12/11

Thanks for a great Dress Rehearsal last Friday! The Tiny team had a wonderful performance at the Rainbow Meet and our first competition was a success. Both teams placed 3rd in Orlando! We obviously have some kinks to work out and some work to do, but it was so good to get the girls out on the floor in front of a crowd. Each team was able to watch themselves on video at practice this week and see what changes need to be made. January competition should be a great one!

Thank you for all your patience as we dealt with uniform and shoe issues last week. The varsity rep has taken back all the uniform tops and bottoms that we had problems with and correct sizes will be made and shipped as soon as possible. We should be in good shape for January. Remember, as you wear your uniform the material will stretch. The tops are also meant to fit very fitted, but will stretch out with each wear. I know many of you would like your child’s uniform to fit in the next year or two to come, but we have lots of growing girls! We can always do some trading of sizes next year as your child grows.

Next weeks practice schedule is normal. The following 2 weeks we will switch to our “Holiday Practice Schedule.” There will be no Monday night tumbling with Andres or Friday afternoon tumbling with me during these 2 weeks. Please see below…
Mon 21 – 430-6 Advanced Tumbling with Tony (tucks & above)
Tue 22 – 3-430 Tiny, 430-6 Youth/Senior Stunt and Jump practice
Wed 23 – 430-6 Intermediate Tumbling with Tony (handsprings & below)

Mon 28 – 430-6 Advanced Tumbling with Tony (tucks & above)
Tue 29 – 3-430 Tiny, 430-6 Youth/Senior Stunt and Jump practice
Wed 30 – 430-6 Intermediate Tumbling with Tony (handsprings & below)

Tumble classes are for youth and senior teams ONLY! Please choose one tumble class for your child to attend depending on her level. We realize that practices will not be full due to holiday break travels. Please let me know if you will be out of town. Practices will resume to our normal schedule the week of January 4th.

The team Holiday Party is on December 19th from 2-4 at the Becker residence. Please be sure to RSVP outside the gym door and choose a food item to bring. Don’t forget to bring a gift for our gift exchange! It will be so much fun to celebrate the holidays together!

Our next Booster Club meeting is THIS TUESDAY, December 15th at 6 pm. Hope to see everyone there!

Cheer News 11/27

Thanks for a great Booster Club meeting on Tuesday. I think it’s so important for the Booster Club and myself to be on the same page and have great communication with one another. The only way we can truly support one another is to communicate and make decisions together. I look forward to this relationship! As soon as I get the minutes, I’ll post them on the website.

Something I meant to talk about at the meeting is team readiness. I know many of you are worried about the teams readiness for the first competition. I want to remind you that our first competition is a regional. It’s not a big competition and I guarantee you that there won’t be many teams there. December is early in competition season and if teams decide to compete in December is it only to prepare them for the rest of the season. It will be great to get the girls out there in front of a crowd and let them see what it feels like to do their routine under pressure. It will also be great to get judges feedback on what we can do to better prepare us for the rest of the season. You don’t want State to be their very first time on the floor and this is a great way to get them ready. It’s not to discourage them, it’s to prepare them. You can help this process along by encouraging them at home!

I also want to reiterate the importance of keeping a positive attitude. Your children look up to you and when you remain positive, so will they. Negativity spreads like wildfire and it’s not healthy. Our character is so important and it says a lot about who we really are. I believe each of you want your children to grow up with outstanding character. In order to do that, we have to set the example. So please, think about what you say in the hallway. People hear you and it’s getting back to me. I want people to tell me what supportive parents I have behind me, not the ladder. Thanks for your understanding and willingness to support this program even if you don’t always agree.

Here is the Dress Rehearsal/Picture schedule again in case anyone needs it. Remember, it’s posted on the team website as well…
- Youth team individual photos will begin at 4:15. A sign-up sheet will be posted outside the gym door. Please sign up for the time you would like to schedule your picture. The youth group photo is at 5:00. Youth will then have a dinner break to go eat (BE CAREFUL IN YOUR UNIFORM!!) Youth will need to be back at the gym at 6:00 to begin warming up for rehearsal.
- Senior team individual photos will begin at 5:15. A sign-up sheet will be posted outside the gym door. Please sign up for the time you would like to schedule your picture. The senior group photo is at 6:00. Seniors will begin warming up for rehearsal immediately following their group photo.
- Tiny individual photos will begin at 6:30. A sign-up sheet will be posted outside the gym door. Please sign up for the time you would like to schedule your picture. The Tiny group photo is at 7:00. Tinys will begin warming up for rehearsal and their performance immediately following their group photo.
- At 7:30, all three teams will take turns performing their routines for parents and peers to see. Youth and Senior teams may go home after all three teams have performed. Tiny team will need to stay for their Rainbow Meet Performance at 8:15 in the main gym.

Hair and make-up need to be done before coming to dress rehearsal. Hair in a pony tail on the crown of the girls head. I will give them their bows this upcoming week. I’ll also be taking a photo of a closed eye lid on Monday to help with make-up.

Remember to bring a note of encouragement for your little/big sister. We will be handing those out at dress rehearsal. Encourage the Tinys for their performance that night and encourage the youth and seniors for their competition the next day. Big Sister/Little Sister information is attached and also on the team website.

Reminder that the Holiday Party date is Saturday, December 19th from 2-4. Hope to see everyone there!

I hope everyone had a Happy Thanksgiving! I’ll see everyone on Monday at practice. Tinys will have normal practice. Youth 4-6. Seniors 530-730. If you take Andres’ tumble class, you will stay until 8:00.
