March Newsletter

Hope this newsletter finds everyone doing well. Our season has picked up pace and we are in the middle of National’s season.  It is imperative that your child attends EVERY PRACTICE and arrives ON TIME.  When your child is absent, it affects the entire team.
Please read the following information carefully as it pertains to upcoming events in the gym.

Remaining Competition Schedule

March 28th-30th- American Open, Orlando- Mini, Youth, Junior, Senior
April 4th-6th- US Spirit, Universal Studios- Seniors
April 19th- American Cheer Power, Tampa- Youth, Juniors
April 20th- American Cheer Power, Tampa- Minis, Youth, Juniors
May 4th- Final Destination, Virginia Beach-
Youth, Seniors

Spring Break Schedule

The week of April 7th-11th, Alachua County’s spring break, we will be changing the practice schedule.
Practice will be offered Monday thru Thursday, 5:30-7:00pm.  These practices will be tumbling and conditioning oriented and you are invited to attend every day.  We will have multiple coaches available to divide the groups by skill.
Minis will not have tumbling on Friday, April 11th.

Booster Club and Banquet Update

 The booster club has been doing a great job planning for the end of the year banquet on May 18th. Information is being sent home with your cheerleader to order tickets and supply pictures for the video.  Please look for this information as it includes deadlines.

Personalized Embroidery

Youth Team Mom Chris Lotfy is offering to have your Team Spirit sweats and backpacks embroidered for the low price of just $5 each. There is an OPTION of putting your child’s first name and first initial of her last name on the warm up jacket. If you have not seen the ones that have been done they are blue with a white outline in script. For those that have asked…the names CAN be placed on the pants or backpack bags also. Price is $5, for those wanting this done before the next competition weekend. These orders will need to be turned into her by Monday, 3/17 for Youth and Seniors, and Tuesday 3/18 for Minis and Juniors. This is the deadline for this competition date. Please place correct name spelling and if you want first name alone or with the first initial of last name on the form provided below and attach with $5 cash or check payable to Sharon Davis.

Please read over the following information very carefully.  Note the deadlines for booking these hotels.  You can stay wherever you would like, these blocks are an option for you.  The coaches will be staying at the Atlantic Sands.

How To Block The Room
 Parents wishing to book rooms are required to use the on-line reservation form* (link below) to book their room(s) using a Visa or MasterCard for the full amount due by March 5, 2008. 

*Please do not call to make your reservations, unless you do not have internet capability, Thanks! 

Refer to the Team Spirit group & be sure and include the names of the room occupants, indicating an “A” for “Adult” for the adults in the room.

Atlantic Sands 
Atlantic Sands Hotel40 rooms – all with two double beds

$86.00 per room/per night (Tax Included).  A 20% non-refundable deposit is due with the reservation request form to hold the rom.  The balance will be charged to the same card submitted for deposit on March 14.  No cancellations accepted after March 14.

Comfort Inn & Suites Oceanfront 
 Comfort Inn & Suites Oceanfront - 15 rooms – all rooms have 1 Queen bed & a Queen pull-out sofa. I am holding 15 rooms.   Due to my contract deadline with this hotel, the FULL* balance is due to secure a reservation.  In addition, no cancellations will be accepted after the reservation is made.  See below for pricing information.

The prices for the Comfort Inn& Suites are as follows:

        Max of 2 Adults*:    $187.00 per room/per night (Tax Included)

*Adult, for these purposes, is defined as 12 years of age & older.
